Home School Fall 2012

Schooling is up and running in the Mangle home and it feels great!!! The kids and I are having a wonderful time with our new schooling experience through Classical Conversations! We have a fresh, new vision and are enjoying each other's company along the way. The twins are working at obtaining several new learning "tools", one of which is learning to draw the world freehand this year. Their first area is the US. What a challenge! I was so impressed with the way they have tackled this new task! They are continually improving and proud to show us their maps.

Little Aria, 4, is working on writing her numbers and letters. She finds the salt box to be a fun way to learn and especially enjoys writing her name.

Alister has shown a great liking for math. This week he learned the different ways to add up to 10 and we were shocked at how quickly he could recite all of them.

Steve has even jumped into the schooling activities. Since we covered up our TV with maps, he has grown increasingly creative with inventing great ways to build, play and create with the kids. This week Steve and the two little ones created a wooden "chute" at the end of our backyard slide into which they rolled golf balls for varying scores. I was totally blown away!!!

We are thankful for the "fresh wind" that God has put in our homeschooling sails.
